Yippee! I made it to the front page of Etsy!

Well it's my first one, so I'm allowed to get a bit excited.

Secret Blisters at Print Club London

On Friday night I went to the Opening of Secret Blisters at Print Club London. Set in an old garage not far from our studios, this is a fantastic space! Apparently used for film and photography shoots. The workshops next door are a great resource for printers and the show gathered together a real mix of new and established illustrators. Two posters were from our very own Abi Williams and Rupert Meats from Rude, based at The Chocolate Factory.
It was a secret show of 35 prints for £35. The artists names were covered up and there was an auction on the Sunday with all names revealed and the first proof up for grabs.
Here are a few pics, I was so excited about it, we went back the next day armed with my camera!
I'll be posting to flickr shortly. Now posted.
Taken on my mobile at the Private View, the queue to get in at 6pm!
My pics from the next day.....
Stanley got a sticky lemon bun, so he was very happy!
Two patient boys waiting with Marlon.
The whole event was sponsored by Castle Gibson Furniture. You can see more images of their lovely restored furniture and eclectic finds on their website, shot on location in the garage space.

Strawberry Fields Forever!

Managed to do a bit of Strawberry picking on Father's day just before I opened up my studio. Red was the order of the day!

Open Studios Over and Out

Well we did it!
What a great weekend it was.
All our publicity paid off and we had a really good turn out.

Andrew, my studio neighbour did a mad but fab performance of 'Water' on the opening night and the weather was fantastic.
As for sales, I was so pleased with it all. My new stuff went down well and the lampshades were by no means overshadowed. So apart from feeling really worn out and coming down with a cold I'm a happy bunny!

More images of the studio can be found on my flickr page alongside all the other participating studios

Retrotogo - Go, Go ,Go!

Thanks to the great site Retrotogo.com for their write up on my Pebble shades.
Part of the Modculture Media group of websites, Switched On Set is also worth a look for cool mod things. I found these fabulous Pencil Trees in their kids section.

Messy Girl!

I don't usually shout about how messy I am, but I thought I'd post this to help me get to grips with the challenge ahead! Open Studio in TWO weeks. I'm only here three days a week, so really I've only got five days. Better get cracking................
So What did I do today?
Pushed past the mess, did lots of ABC prints and had fun making this for my friend's little boy.
So much for the tidy up. A Productive day, none the less!
From the look on his face when we presented it to him, I think he would have preferred Spiderman. Oh well.

Open Studios, 20th/21st June

It's summer time again and Open Studios are nearly upon us. There are 25 Studios at The Chocolate Factory and we will be opening our doors for one weekend. It's a great chance to see the artists and their work, see what's new, grab some bargains and enjoy a browse. The studios are a real find off the busy Stoke Newington Road: A Cobbled yard with hanging baskets and an oasis of pots and plants set the scene for this thriving community of artists and designer makers.
You will find me at Unit F5. Lots of samples, sale items and new products will be on offer.
Private View Friday 19th June 6.30 to 9pm. If you'd like to come along please do!

Peanut Butter Numbers......

Yesterday, Stanley and I had a go at making Peanut Butter Bears from one of Annabel Karmel's recipes. They ended up being a bit different! I think I've got a long way to go before I get to be home baking queen.

Blooming!

Just loving the flowers in our garden this morning!
